Halekulani Recognized with Committment to Culture Award by Leading Hotels

Selected as only Leading Hotel in North America

HONOLULU, HI - November 2010. The prestigious luxury hospitality organization Leading Hotels of the World, which represents the world’s finest hotels and resorts, has recognized Halekulani with its Commitment to Excellence Award for Culture. The Waikiki luxury resort is the only U.S. member hotel to achieve this major honor. The announcement was made during the organization’s Fifth Annual Commitment to Quality Awards, held in conjunction with it its International Convention in Tokyo, Japan.

The Fifth Annual Commitment to Excellence Awards acknowledges hotels whose concept of service extends beyond their immediate walls, and whose exceptional efforts exert a positive impact on our world in the areas of the environment, community outreach and cultural support. The “culture” category honors hotels committed to maintaining and promoting significant components of their regions’ historic, artistic or philosophical heritage.

For more than 25 years Halekulani has been a significant partner with Honolulu’s leading cultural institutions, most notably embodied by Halekulani’s “For You, Everything” program which extends hotel guests complimentary admission to many of Honolulu's top cultural revenues. Halekulani’s major cultural partners include the Hawaii International Film Festival, Honolulu Academy of Arts, Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, Contemporary Museum of Art, Honolulu Symphony, Shangri La estate, and Honolulu Magazine Photo Contest.
